Chain-Hoist Doors are designed to make large commercial and industrial doors easier to operate manually. Instead of physically lifting the door curtain, the operator pulls a hanging hand chain connected to a sprocket or reduction mechanism that transfers movement to the door shaft.
Depending on the door configuration, chain-hoist systems can be used with rolling steel doors, roll-up doors, sectional overhead doors, high-lift configurations, and other commercial door systems. Gear-reduction designs can reduce the effort required to operate heavier doors and provide more controlled movement.
Proper installation is especially important with manual chain-hoist systems. Door weight, spring counterbalance, shaft configuration, mounting position, available clearance, and operating requirements should all be considered when selecting the appropriate system.
